INITIAL CONSULTATION
The first step in this process involves careful analysis of the problem. This is to ensure that the correct problem is being considered and that it is reasonable for it to be responsible for observed difficulties. This analysis also helps to provide targets for solutions and to provide accurate price forecasts for future works. The initial consultancy has a fee of £3200 subject to extra costs if additional services or multiple days on site are required.
PROSPECTIVE SOLUTIONS
Following the initial consultation an extensive study of the academic literature and patents is undertaken to draw up potential solutions. Theoretical calculations and computational modelling can be utilised to prepare a series of prospective solutions. This process can take between 3 to 6 months. A comprehensive report is presented and consultation with the client is maintained to thoroughly explain any details.
TEST PROJECTS
The report outlining the prospective solutions can be utilised to prepare a series of small research projects, in house or in collaboration with academia. The duration of these projects would typically be around 1 year. This will result in a report outlining the research with a rigorous study of each of the potential solutions. These results will then be used to select the best solutions or directions for a more thorough research project. Each small research project will cost approximately £25,000 dependent upon particulars.
INTENSIVE PROJECTS
The results of the small projects are used to inform the design of larger, more thorough research which will typically take 3-4 years. This will result in specific parameters and system design clarification to directly inform the use of each solution to solve the original problem. These projects will result in a comprehensive report outlining the successful solutions and how they can be applied to the problem of interest. Each project carried forward will typically cost £150,000 dependent upon particulars.
FURTHER SUPPORT
After each research stage it is likely that significant amounts of intellectual property have been discovered and would be wider reaching than the solution to the original problem. Therefore we offer further support, both to help exploit any new findings and to apply the determined solutions to the problem.
